Charging ahead with Gensen in 2022

39,315 BEVs were sold in the UK throughout March 2022, according to the SMMT. Compared to 3,141 BEV registrations only 5 years earlier, you can believe some analysts estimations that we are just 3 years from the ICEberg disappearing beneath the ‘current’ trend - and with Salary Sacrifice making the switch to electric even more compelling.

In adopting, embracing and managing the transition to electric, we all continue to have our parts to play. From a consulting perspective, there’s still value and rationale behind the ICE choice, too, if you ask the right questions of your fleet managers and policy planners in the run up to 2030, and can use the correct tools for the job.

Gensen is regularly updated and will continue to help encourage value-based decisions for company car drivers, cash takers and business owners. It can save hours in detailed quote preparation and allow pivotal and swift responses to the growing number of digital enquiries, enhancing your knowledge of the market (within the confines of your ratebook) in just a few seconds.

Gensen’s 11 Calculators

On 5th April 2022, we delivered new tax year updates for Gensen users so you can be sure that your favourite Whole Life Cost, Salary Sacrifice and Cash vs Car calculators are reliably up-to-date.

Further Salary Sacrifice support can be discussed, including our proforma documentation, scheme design, and various degrees of calculations and software integration.

We have a variety of options to support different levels of budget and required assistance.

Recent Enhancements

We have applied an advisory fuel rate (AFR) option, which, offers an extra means to calculate fuel costs, and applied a new CSV report function with two levels of data export options provides greater flexibility when helping customers prepare up-to-date whole life cost-based choice lists. Our Gensen journeys training packages have all been updated for Gensen users, too. Click Help and Support in the Gensen menu.

If you’d like to add the CSV export function to your Gensen reports, please call us. Implementation is quick!

What comes next?

  • CAP’s new image service for Gensen

    • The new service will provide high quality, uniform layout and direction for all images within the Gensen calculators and the downloadable PDF reports.

  • ICE vs EV comparators to help the transition

    • As mentioned, there is still rationale for ICE vehicles but giving your customers the choice to compare the market in a few seconds means you are providing fast, efficient, trusted information to help make the right choice.

  • Customer-specific multi-rate book uploads

    • Some clients have special rate books and now you can utilise those rate books within your Gensen calculations. This has proved popular so far and we’re taking feedback with regard to further expanding this new feature.

  • Algorithm refinements on EV range and more filters

    • It takes a vast amount of testing and cross-checking for the evaluation of changes to our systems to be ‘ready for launch’ and and scrutinising. We’re assessing updates to the algorithm to do further work on providing comparison feedback on EV vs MPG and more, as well as added filters to help further refine your report results.

  • PCH calculator and comparator

    • There’s not a lot of complexity in the calculations themselves, however, a lot of our customers have asked for a PCH-only tool. We’ll provide a PCH calculator to output comparators for all your rate book vehicles and you’ll be empowered to offer fast results for your customers.

  • VANS! (We know.. finally!)

    • Light commercial vehicles (LCVs) are a complex bunch. There are so many variants and customisations available. However, we are working on getting the basics covered to help your customers understand the true sense of value to be derived from pitting the Transit against the Trafic or the Vito virus the Vivaro.
